This is a self-acclaimed LET’S FANGIRL OVER LENA post. Proceed with caution (or don’t proceed at all) if you’re a hater*.
Lena trash talking (or Lena’s equivalent of “trash talking”) JJ, according to Doug’s Sports Blog:
Asked about Jankovic’s complaints the other day, the fourth-ranked player laughed: “I don’t know what to say. It looks like she’s playing every single week, more than anyone else. If she can play two tournaments in a week, she will do this.”
O snap, Lena.
The Golden Goddess wasn’t satisfied with the sarcastic mockery of Jankovic. She then decided to also show off her superior intellect. In the Hero video, “Players Favorite Books”, this becomes quite obvious. The question: “What’s your favourite book?”. Severine Bremond’s answer was Stephanie Meyer‘s Twilight. Lena’s reply was Tolstoi and Dostoievski books. Oh, Lena, stop it! Now we can tell you’re doing on purpose.
And Nadia‘s favourite books are War and Peace and Gone With The Wind. She must have a huge attention spam. I can hardly get through the Gone With The Wind movie in one sit — and it’s one of my favourite movies!

P.S. Once again I apologize for not posting but I was a) sick and b) busy watching the FINA World Championships in Rome.

I agree with someone who posted in that thread you linked to. Having played more tournaments than Jankovic this year and having had complained about the Road Map herself after IW takes away the “o snap” quality from Lena’s trash talking and lands it on “o hypocrisy/old meme” camp.
Regardless, I’m amused by JJ being every top 20er preferred subject for bitchiness. Needs moar drawings.

Elena has intimidatingly sophisticated taste – I’ve noticed it in so many of her responses…like, her Saturday nights were typically spent at the theatre or ballet with friends, or something. Who does that anymore! Severine Bremond’s responses always make me laugh. But yeah, reallllly hoping Lena can get past Venus and win a title this week & I just love the photo – she’s no doubt the most awesome, she just has to wear it right :)
Not really sure about the dig on Jelena, I don’t like bitchy-Elena as much as I do sweet-Elena.

Elena is indeed a very classy/sophisticated person and I love her for it. But when she’s “bitchy”, it’s hilarious.

I don’t think Lena was seriously criticizing JJ or even mocking her or anything. I think she was just being sarcastic and all. At the moment, there are other players that are playing more tourneys than JJ. But I think we can agree if she said that about Dina or Caro it would come out a lot bitchier.

Answer: I have tried and failed several times to keep blogs up. Why? Because I don’t like doing serious journalism unless there’s money showing up in my bank account — and there wasn’t. This blog will have no interest in being impartial or, you know, actually talking about the sport (ok, maybe from time to time).
