Sharapova coming to Brazil, Chile and Argentina

According to Chilean Terra (respesctable source, in my opinion), Sharapova will be coming to South American in the end of November to play exhibitions. Newspaper El Mercurio informs she’ll arrive on Argentina on the 30th November and on Chile on the 2nd December to play Argentinean Gisela Dulko. She’ll stop by Brazil too — with no confirmation so far of any Brazilian source.

The amusing part? The article’s first paragraph:

The beautiful former number 1 of the world, Maria Sharapova, will make the dreams of many true and will visit our country in the end of the year to play the sculptured Argentinean Gisela Duko in one of the most attractive matches that have happened in Chile.

Oh lol, sounds like a whole country needs to get laid.

I think this is an interesting match up if you consider: a) Gise is the one that took Sharapova down on Wimbledon this year, and b) BATTLE OF HEADBANDS PART II, yes?

I swear to goodness, tennis must be the only thing on earth that makes me run out on jokes. I seriously can not come up with anything wittier than “OH LOL YOU HOMOS” after looking at those pictures. I’ll leave the funny to movies then, eh? And isn’t tennis + fashion + pop culture a cool mix? I BELIEVE SO, yes.

Ok, this has absolutely nothing to do with the post (unless you want to make a gay joke regarding how Caro sits and the fact she really likes ABBA) but…

This picture? That’s a freakin’ creepy smile going on there. I can almost see her going in her head “MWAHAHAHA *evil laugh*”. Geez. I bet she’s coming up with an evil plan how she’s going to moonball Kiri to death tomorrow. Also, glittery purple nail polish? What is she? A Scandinavian drag queen? For fuck’s sake, Caro. You’re lucky I love you sometimes. Or not — depends how you look at it, actually.

Q. Maria had a distinctive new jacket, military style jacket. What do you think of that? What do you think of Maria’s fashion generally?

GISELA DULKO: I think it’s very pretty.

Q. Maria has a lot of fans, not just because she’s a great tennis player, but because she’s very attractive and she does a lot of modeling. A few people have noticed you’re not so bad looking yourself. How do you feel about being a pin up?

LOL. I read that with Britney’s “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman” playing in my head. Yes, my brain works in mysterious ways. And what is with those illiterate interviewers? How many time can one say “welcome” and “attention” in less than 30 seconds? Fuckin’ hell.

Because you saw this coming. Tea + catching up with tennis = all I need at the moment.

Gise’s pic is actually not from today because I couldn’t find a decent one where you could see the Lacoste logo. Only 45588941 different images from Sharapova. Who needs unbiased Journalism, eh? Lena V./Vika picture I believe was posted here. If not… HOW CUTE ARE THEY? Answer: Very. Lena V.’s RG doubles outfit was lovely. Black tight dress and that bicolour headband. I approve it, she looked gorgeous (as usual). Now, it looks like Pavs’ headband is from the Men’s collection. I still like it though. I believe it would have been slightly more girlier if the Adidas logo was to the side, but oh well. I don’t know if you can see in the tiny picture, but if not, click here, HER NAIL POLISH MATCHES HER SHIRT.  Ignore the fact Pavs lost today to Vinci, she’s such a frakkin’ baby rockstar.

The same headband worn by Lena V. in doubles at RG was worn by Gise in Stuttgart. In this picture, you can see it more clearly. I want it. It matches my red (or should I say “terre batue”?) RG wristband. Special appearance by: Flavia Pennetta (headband-less).

Here we learn with Severine Bremond the different ways to wear a handband and look stylish. First picture is at RG, she wore it on top of her head (à la Serena/Blair Waldorf). At Wimbledon, the “regular” way. And at last year’s US Open she wore a ridiculously pretty blue-and-white one. God bless Lacoste.
