No need to read the post if you’re not into amazing things and-slash-or you don’t speak Portuguese.

Ontem (ou talvez anteontem), um novo site sobre tênis foi lançado, o Teniscópio.

A proposta do Teniscópio é ser um conjunto de blogs, escritos por diferentes autores, com diferentes interesses — jornalistas ou não. O site também conta com um agregador de notícias sobre tênis que leva para sites internacionais e nacionais. A ideia é que em vez de um site com notícias sobre tênis, se tenha um site com opiniões sobre notícias sobre tênis.

O meu blog, ‘Love Game’, está no ar e o meu primeiro post já pode ser lido. Eu, como sempre, devido à falta de criatividade, aceito sugestões de pautas.

Além disso, o Teniscópio tem twitter e facebook, então vamos seguir/curtir, galera.

This is one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in a while. One of ESPN‘s tennis commentators, Mary Carillo, gives spectators a crazy, inspired rant on what happens when you play badminton in your backyard. Spoiler: bad things, apparently! It’s back from the Olympics in Athens in 2004 but maybe you haven’t seen it. I hadn’t.

Now, serioulsy, that looks like a scene out of The Anchorman. Or Sports Night if Casey McCall was on crack.

Play starts in eight hours and I should be getting some sleep but I’m too busy laughing at my own blog. My dorkiness — IT KNOWS NO BOUNDS. I was looking at the recent ‘search terms’ that lead people to Fierce Tennis and I started giggling like a maniac. I believe it’s time for another of these posts.

Let’s talk tennis-pool

I’m sure, by now, everyone’s already bored of eating so much turkey, so let’s have a bit of old-fashioned computer/tennis fun, shall we?

Tennis-Pool, for those that don’t know, is a fantasy tennis game. You pick 10 players for the ATP and 10 for the WTA. You’ll get points for how far they go in the tournaments. Also, each week you can trade 3 players on each tour. For the full rules, you should check out the website.

Am I getting paid for posting this here? No, not at all but if you work for tennis-pool and would like to send me a Christmas bonus, feel free to e-mail me. Why am I posting this here then? It’s fun. I’ve been playing tennis-pool for three years or so and I’ve never manage to complete a full season. I always end up being mad at the stupid game or forgetting to make my trades. Either way, I fail. But, honestly, when you get it right, it’s awesome. I was number one during Wimbledon in the WTA and it managed to give me quite a few opportunities to gloat at my fellow tennis geeks. LOOK AT ME, I’M A GRASS XXXXPEEERRRRT — haha, not.

My username this year will be 2 Sexy 4 My Headband and I’ll be a member of the Fierce Tennis club. I recommend you all to join the club and comment here in the future telling me how you’re the one that should be the tennis blogger because my results obviously say I know nothing about tennis. It will be EPIC, you guys.

Below is my initial team just so you guys can tell how SRS I’m am regarding this. It will probably change once the draws for the first week tourneys come out though.
