Very important poll (pls vote and help my troubled mind)
October 31st, 2009 • 5 comments jj, off-topic
I realize this is a tennis blog. But it’s also a blog that belongs to me, therefore, I’ll post whatever I want. Suck it up, readers. (Just kidding, I ♥ u guise.)
As the days go by, I find myself getting more and more into the TV show Criminal Minds. It’s very entertaining stuff. And now, I’m relating the name “JJ” to that cute blonde on the left below. If I read or write “JJ”, I immediately go “HEE JJ! *squees*”. And this might be an issue. Because JJ is also how I call the tennis player on the right.
So I’m here thinking to myself. Because sometimes I do that… you know, think. And I believe I need another nickname for the Serb. I’m going to do a poll to see what you guys think, but honestly, I’m not feeling any of these names bellow. I’ll be taking suggestions, please comment if you have any. Thanks!
You guys, this is going to be fun

Every week, I get excited for music website Popjustice to post their X Factor playsheets. And I thought, I wish we had something equally cracktastic on tennis. Our sport doesn’t have enough absurd/ironic stuff. Making fun of Sharapova‘s sexuality, Nando‘s girlfriends or Federer‘s chest hair simply isn’t enough. With the Year-End Championships in Doha starting in three days, I thought I’d do something for the tournament. Fierce Tennis haz done a Doha playsheet.
(reader I♥Kiri didn’t seem to have a red pen)
This is how the game works:
- Download the playsheet here (right-click save).
- You can choose to either print it (recommended) or do it on Photoshop/MS Paint/somewhere else (like done by reader Craig).
- The draw isn’t out yet, so here is what you can do so far: answer the poll, do the hotness/chance of winning part on the chart. Besides that, add glitter, paste pictures, do whatever you want!
- Please tweet your stylesheets to @fiercetennnis before/during/after the tournament. I’ll be posting the best ones here! At the end of the tournament, I’ll pick a winner. What will the winner get? Unconditional Fierce Tennis love.
Two things that made me lol today
August 17th, 2009 • 2 comments doubles couples, holy rafa, nole jokevic, off-topic, spadea can't rap
1)

From the Google ads at the sidebar. Which, btw, if you like the blog, click on them. Not only they provide such lolz as “IS RAFA A CHRISTIAN?” but they also give me money to pay off the host. Two for one, y’all.
2)
Nole “rapping” for the Bryan Bros‘ “album”. And the video of such ridiculous/amazing thing:
Guess we have a new Vincent Spadea on the tour, u guise.
Welcome!

I don’t think most of you know this, but I can be very OCD when it comes to visuals: layouts, matching colours and stuff. And I did try keeping the blog at WordPress.com, I really did. It was free and there was no need to spend money on something as unprofessional as this blog. But, also, for me, it was painful to look at the blog. The width was too little and you can’t edit a single design on WordPress.com and all the layouts are ugly. So, yes, the pain.
What does this mean for you reader? It means that now the layout is big, white, pretty and with a readable font. It also means that you should be updating your bookmarks and feeds, because now we’re FierceTennis.com. It even sounds serious, right? Tricked ya!
And, what I believe is the most important, we can nao haz gifs!!!!! (Like this) Considering the last “CELEBRATION POST!!!!!” sucked, I’ll leave you guys with a happy!Vika gif to make it up. Feel free to seriously spam the comments now.
Tumblrs
July 20th, 2009 • 5 comments off-topic
In the past few days, I’ve seen so many great tennis tumblrs that I thought about making a post about them. To those who don’t know, a tumblr is a blogging platform much like Blogger or WordPress, only, well, prettier. They’re used most of the time to post pictures but you can also add music, text, quotes, etc. The biggest advantage on it is you can “reblogg” stuff on it like you can “retweet” on Twitter. The bad side is it’s not well-known as bigger blogging plataforms and it doesn’t have many tools for “serious” blogging like stats or polls.
Here you can see the links of some cool tennis tumblrs. You can follow them there if you have a tumblr account or you can just use the RSS to follow on your feed reader.
- Fuck Yeah Pretty Tennis Girls!
- Fuck yeah Kiri!
- What? Where? Who?
- All Hail Maratski
- VAMOS
- Fernando Verdasco News
- For The Love of Grand Slams
- DEUCE
- ADJE
- Fuck Yeah Roger Federer
- Guhh Russians
- let’s have some fun, this beat is sick
If anyone wants to add any link, just comment with it, I’ll put it up.

My friend Nikkie just sent me some tennis quizzes to play, so yay:
- Can you name the top 50 women’s tennis players in the world (WTA)?
- Can you name the top 50 men’s tennis players in the World (ATP)?
- Guess the grunt. Or how the Germans say it: Wer stöhnt denn da?
I believe I would have done better on the WTA one if I hadn’t spent 3 minutes going “Who’s from France????”. It was Cornet. Eh.
Look u guise!!11one

Warning: this is completely unrelated to Wimbledon or actual tennis.
WordPress has this feature that allows me to see what people searched to get to my blog. I’m just going to post the “Best of” and maybe someone can come out and say they were the ones that searched such thing. It will be fun, I promise.
- doubles tennis players kissing
- wimbledon pretty and ugly controversy
- azarenka bitch
- azarenka fucking
- vika hot
- gisela dulko crotch
- gisela’s clit
- tennis slut
- gasgay tennis player
- danish tenis player hot falow down
- samantha stosur interviews about gay
So, overall, YOU STAY CLASSY, FIERCE TENNIS READERS.
P.S. The most searched term is “Fierce Tennis”. How hard can it be to bookmark the blog or something, eh? :P

Answer: I have tried and failed several times to keep blogs up. Why? Because I don’t like doing serious journalism unless there’s money showing up in my bank account — and there wasn’t. This blog will have no interest in being impartial or, you know, actually talking about the sport (ok, maybe from time to time). There are tons of other blogs (and news websites) that do this job pretty well already. Here we will discuss the shallow part: the outfits, the gossip, the outrages and who Fernando Verdasco is currently dating.
